The team at Urbanology is thrilled to announce their partnership with Blueprint Lighting in creating and launching a lighting collection inspired by organic shapes and treasured heirlooms. It’s the culmination of a years-long dream for founder and CEO Ginger Curtis who has notebooks full of fixture sketches from the early days of Urbanology.

“We wanted a departure from the ordinary and celebration of balance and asymmetry. Combining aesthetics and functionality, “our goal was to craft a lighting collection that goes beyond illumination—one that is simply delightful, sparking joy and creativity in unique ways.”

An Idea Come to Light

In the creative process, we encountered challenges with initial concepts featuring overly aggressive curvatures, pushing the boundaries of practicality. While we let our imagination roam freely, reigning it in became essential to ensure the buildability of the light fixtures. Additionally, narrowing down the selection posed a challenge; we began with over 30 concepts and meticulously refined our choices to the final six, ensuring each embodied our design ethos.

In the collaboration project, it wasn't a carte blanche, but it was a truly wonderful experience. Blueprint Lighting provided us with almost complete freedom to express ourselves creatively. There were minimal initial constraints, allowing us to design from our passion. While refining and narrowing down selections were necessary steps, the approach of not hindering us in the beginning proved essential to the creative process.

Our final selections reflect elegance, simplicity, nature, and a blend of contemporary and nostalgic charm.

Inspired Illumination

The Lily was inspired by the graceful interplay between a brass wall hook and a hanging cloak.

The Zinna was inspired by nature, evocative of a heliotrope tracking the movements of the sun.

The Corsa, The Dahlia, The Primrose, and The Verso combine a modern aesthetic with nostalgic nods.

Each fixture is designed to be more than an object; it's a source of inspiration, inviting users to bask in the grace of extraordinary design that nurtures the soul and well-being. Ultimately our designs reflect our ethos: creating interiors that are elevated, curated, and storied, rooted in authenticity and luxury.
