How to Style the Perfect Entryway

By February 8, 2018 No Comments

Creating a welcoming home starts with your entryway. And while that might seem obvious, it’s often an overlooked area of the home. More often than not the entry becomes a convenient catch-all spot for junk mail and those last second necessities like sunglasses and car keys.

But all that clutter can really impact the space’s overall design (not to mention your home’s first impression). Spring is the perfect time to freshen up your entryway after the long winter and boy have we got some entryway inspiration for you today!

Whether your entryway is big or small, it’s always worth investing a little time and money into some furniture and accessories that really make a statement. Below are two entries that we recently styled.

Small but Mighty

No room for a standard size console table or bench? No worries! The above entry area is a great example of what you can do when space is tight. This small corner entry was in need of some smart design. We had a simple shelf made and mounted to the wall (freeing up space underneath for shoes, etc.). Mirrors are perfect for entryways because they reflect light (making a space look larger) and give you a spot to apply lipstick or fix stray hair before heading out the door. We love this simple gold round one from West Elm. Add a few hooks on the wall and you have the perfect spot to hang your coat, hat or scarf. This small area is now a beautiful functional space.

Bold and Beautiful

Hello Entry! This stunning vignette is the first thing you see when you walk in the front door. And what a statement it makes! The modern dark planks are the perfect backdrop for the stately bloak ladder from Lostine. A ladder is a great addition to any entry and the quality and craftsmanship of this one is the best we have ever seen. We love that we can hang small baskets on the ladder to keep keys, sunglasses and other out-the-door necessities close at hand but out of sight. A sturdy bench, peg hooks and pretty decor complete this one-of-a-kind entry.

We packed a picnic basket that’s ready to go at a moments notice when beautiful spring days beckon us outside. The sturdy maple cutting board is also from Lostine. Have you ever seen a more beautiful cutting board? The leather strap for hanging literally turns it into a piece of artwork for the kitchen.

We hope these two spaces inspire you to dream big for your entry way and create a welcoming, functional space for you and your family. Happy Decorating!
