Preston Hollow, Contemporary Modern
Welcome to this stunning, contemporary home situated in the Preston Hollow neighborhood of Dallas. Designed as a perfect sanctuary for busy professionals, our goal was to create a beautiful, livable, and interesting home that this family could enjoy on a daily basis, with an emphasis on functionality and pet-friendliness.
Taking inspiration from west coast interiors, our design features a well-balanced color scheme, rich texture, and layering, as well as comfortable and highly functional furniture pieces. We incorporated shades of green, rust, and blue throughout the furniture and artwork, reflecting the clients' love for vibrant colors.
The expansive entryway, flooded with natural light, seamlessly flows into the connected living room. The neutral color scheme, combined with an elegant bench, gallery wall, plaster table, and sculptural chair, allows the space to feel airy and bright. A striking sculpture on a pedestal adds a touch of intrigue to the staircase.
In the heart of the home, the living room boasts a conversational layout, with a large comfy sofa, mismatched chairs, a backless bench, and a warm wood-toned coffee table. The olive green performance linen sofa adds a pop of color, while the commissioned textured artwork by local artist Heather Essian completes the design.
The dining room's statement marble table is complemented by contrasting black chairs and a leather bench, creating a harmonious balance. A beautiful black credenza with antique brass hardware provides ample storage, and the existing bar hosts the client's coffee machine and wine fridge.
The master bedroom overlooks the picturesque backyard and features a custom platform bed with channeled headboard detail, adding softness and texture to the room. A comfy reading nook with a light chair and pendant light, as well as a daybed at the foot of the bed, provide additional relaxation spaces.
Throughout the project, we focused on meeting the client's must-haves: a livable, functional home that accommodates their pets and provides comfortable spaces for daily enjoyment and entertaining.
