Modern Hacienda
Set in the prestigious golf community of Cimarron Hills in Georgetown, Texas, our "Modern Hacienda" project represents a profound transformation of a Spanish/Mediterranean-style home. Originally built in 2006 by Tom Pitt Custom Homes, this expansive 5,605 sq ft residence, a celebrated winner at the 2007 Parade of Homes for Grand Prize, Best of Show, Best Pool, and Best Architecture, has undergone a complete redesign from May 2023 to May 2024.
Led by Urbanology Designs, the project aimed to craft a deeply personal sanctuary that mirrors the homeowners' eclectic and global tastes, melding urban organic elements with a distinctive lone star flair, honoring their roots in Texas. The redesign spanned critical areas, including the exterior, grand entry, TV room, bar and lounge, dining room, kitchen, and morning room.
Central to the redesign is the incorporation of the homeowners' unique collection of artifacts and vintage finds. These treasures, including vintage pots, cowboy boots, hats, and books, have been thoughtfully integrated throughout the home. This careful placement creates captivating vignettes that not only tell a story but also infuse each room with a deeply personal and distinctive charm.
The design philosophy challenges conventional aesthetics by creating a dialogue between the home's thoughtful architecture and the intimate, personalized spaces within. This includes a dramatically re-envisioned bar area with bespoke furniture and detailed mosaic flooring, a dining area anchored by a Southwestern style fireplace and a custom-crafted travertine table, and a morning room designed to harness the tranquil morning light for a serene start to each day.
With an emphasis on meticulous collaboration, the project involved partnerships with top-tier vendors and artisans responsible for bringing this visionary design to life through custom furniture pieces and tailored stone and tile work.
"Modern Hacienda" is more than a redesign; it is a reinvention of space that respects the architectural integrity of a prestigious home while introducing a personalized, modern design ethos that is both inspirational and transformative.
