We’re going to start the week off with a woodsy bohemian baby shower that we hosted for our dear friends Kate and Eric. Mama-to-be, Kate, is the kind of stylish, down to earth, adventurous gal everyone wants as a friend. After birthing three boys you can only imagine the happy dance going on when they found out number four was a GIRL! The look on Kate’s face at the gender reveal party says it all…priceless!

This baby girl is a dream come true for her parents. We could not be more THRILLED for them and wanted to make this baby shower extra special and memorable. The shower encompassed all things boho, rustic, wild and free. From dreamy canopies, macramé, tents, feathers, flowers and wood…no detail was left out. We used pastel colors and added lots of woodsy, rustic charm…just right for a summer shower.

The front door was marked with a hand painted and calligraphed welcome sign that led guests into the large entry area adorned with a giant boho dreamcatcher by Love Heart Handmade . Thanks to Cindy Campbell, of Young Living Essential Oils, guests were treated to the beautiful aroma of lavendar, lemon and rosemary diffusing the air as they arrived. A giant 10 foot farm table held a delicious spread by A&T Catering. How awesome is that paper garland by KM Hallberg Desings? We decided to use it over the table to pack a visual punch and set the Boho Princess tone.  Guests were treated to a delicious spread of antipasto, chicken salad wheels, watermelon feta bites and mini sweet cakes. Of course the pièce de résistance was the Woodland Berry Cake with the most adorable gold deer cake topper you’ve ever seen made by Half Pint Fauna. The cake rested on a stunning aspen log stand made by Country Chapel. The hand-painted feather cookies were provided by LHE Bakes and were a huge hit. Dotted throughout the display were wood card holders, more gold woodland animals, handmade acorns and gold-dipped feathers.

Bow Kay Designs wowed us with the most perfect flower arrangement for the event—a combination of white hydrangeas, mini roses, daisies, pink snapdragons and baby’s breath. It was elevated on wood stumps and provided the perfect backdrop for the table and food. More baby’s breath was freely arranged in jars and spread throughout the display to create a whimsical, woodsy, rustic feel.

Guest could choose from a variety of beverages including Berry Spritzer, Lavendar Lemonade and Citrus Water. Keeping with the bohemian theme we adorned the station with an intricate dream catcher mobile by The Dream Barn, floral prints and more baby’s breath.

A tented gift area! Need a bigger dose of adorbs? Complete with a calligraphed sign and crepe paper flower garland this little teepee was the perfect holding spot for the gifts in the living room. Notice the attention to detail when you look closely inside the tent. A chunky hand-knit blanket acts as a plush resting spot for the delicately wrapped gifts. Also in the living room were hand-sanded tree stumps for extra seating (we added lamb skin to the top for extra softness). Two custom-made macramé pieces were created for the living room…the one on the giant pinboard was by Ciocco Design Co. and the one hanging between the living and breakfast area was by Zim Zoo. The eye-candy continued in this space with delicate crepe paper flowers, one-of-a-kind macramé hangings, hand-painted pink and gold floral prints with sayings like, “Dream Big Little One” and “Let her sleep for when she wakes she will move mountains”. A rustic birch branch tassel was hung center stage below the mantel. And above it all as a reminder of the gift to come was the name“Ashleigh”. The print was handmade by Scripted Love Calligraphy.

In lieu of baby games we opted for a craft station where guests were invited to personalize a baby block for sweet Ashleigh to play with as she grows. Guests wrote personal messages and scriptures on an array of beautiful paper and decoupaged them on to the blocks. Such a sweet gift that will be a keepsake for years to come. The adorable pink and gold feathers pictured above are from K Kennedy Co.

Gifts were opened and tears were shed. As we wrapped up, Kate’s friends gathered around and prayed over her…prayers of thanksgiving to the Giver of life. Prayers for strength in the days to come and wisdom in parenting. It was a perfect ending to the magical event.

A woodsy-themed shower would not be complete without some trail mix! As guest departed they stopped by the Trail Mix Bar to scoop up delicious treats like granola, almonds, dark chocolate, coconut and dried fruit. The small gift boxes were adorned with fresh rosemary and a wood “thank you” tag.

Needless to say, throwing this shower for Kate was truly a delight, and some serious styling fun. We enjoyed every minute of it.  We could not be more in love with this baby already and can’t wait to meet sweet Ashleigh. She is one blessed little girl. Congrats Kate & Eric!

A big THANK YOU to the wonderful collaborators and artists who partnered with us on this event. A special thanks to Sesha Smith, our amazing photographer, who captured every detail perfectly! The incredible talent of the small business owners listed below is what set this event apart. Alone we can create something lovely, but together we can do the spectacular!
